Incompatible Hardware

Impulse Tracker works with a huge variety of hardware configurations, although there are some unresolved problems with certain hardware. The following list contains information on hardware that is known to cause problems.

Ensoniq AudioPCI
This card is not natively supported and has inadequate emulation to playback at high quality without causing the sound to chop up. It will work at 22kHz, 8 bit mono, although that is hardly a satisfying level to work with.

Sound Blaster PCI, Sound Blaster 64 PCI
Same as for Ensoniq AudioPCI, as they have essentially the same core chip.

Diamondstealth 3D II (i740 chipset)
This videocard has been known to cause the sound output to stagger badly.
